Excel Add-in Setup Guide

Follow these simple steps to install our Excel Add-in and start practicing with hands-on exercises.

Installation Instructions

1. Download the Add-in package

   Click here to download the manifest file.

2. Verify the download

   Check that the file named manifest.xml was successfully downloaded to your downloads folder.

   

   
3. Open Excel

   Launch Microsoft Excel desktop version or Excel Online.

   Note: When using Excel Online, the Add-in won't be saved between sessions. You'll need to reinstall it each time you open Excel in your browser.

4. Find the Add-ins section

   Navigate to the Home tab in the Excel ribbon. Look for "Add-ins" on the right side of the ribbon.

   

   
5. Access "More Add-ins" button

   Click on "More Add-ins". Excel will show some suggested applications. Click on "More Add-ins" to continue.

   

   
6. Open MY ADD-INS

   In the Office Add-ins dialog that appears, click on "MY ADD-INS" tab located next to the "Office Add-ins" title.

   

   
7. Upload your Add-in

   Click on "Upload My Add-in" on the right side (next to the Refresh button).

8. Browse for the manifest file

   Click the "Browse" button and navigate to your downloads folder. Select the manifest.xml file you downloaded earlier.

   

   
9. Complete the upload

   Click "Upload" to finish the installation process.

10. Start using the Add-in

    A new icon labeled "Excel Insights" will appear in your Excel ribbon after the Add-ins section. Click on it to open the Add-in and begin completing your practice tasks.

    

    

Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues during installation:

• Make sure you're using a compatible version of Excel (2016 or newer)
• Check that the manifest.xml file wasn't renamed during download
• Try restarting Excel and attempting the installation again
• Ensure you have proper permissions to install Add-ins in your Excel environment
